Budapest Healthcare Model Project

The hospitals owned by the Municipality of Budapest perform roughly the half of population's medical care of Budapest and Pest county, but they act as a totally independent organisations in the market of healthcare services. In this system it is not possible to make use of scarce resources efficiently, the system cannot work at group optimum. In order to utilise the available sources in an optimal way and form a structure which conforms to the needs, the advisory consortium elaborated an operative holding type function model, which we suggest to introduce according to the principle of gradualism.

The special management and financing situation of local governments and the rising risk of this sector need continuous attention in the course of positioning banking services. By our year-end survey in 2007 it became possible to estimate the market potential of this segment. Our detailed analysis, which was based on a survey including a representative sample by settlement type and county, we produced information in the following topics:

After reviewing the factors affecting Hungary?s long term macroeconomic trends (the global economy, economic policy etc.) we define a macroeconomic path until 2015 based on past and expected trends.
