Increasing confidence, improving expectations
In August GKI's economic sentiment index adjusted for seasonal effects continued its rise-after the halt in July - that had started last May. According to the survey conducted by GKI Economic Research Co. (www.gki.hu) with the support of the European Union, business and consumer expectations both improved significantly.

Improving economy - deteriorating international trust
According to the forecast of GKI Economic Research Co. prepared in co-operation with Erste Bank, the rate of growth of Hungary's GDP will be around 1 per cent due to the rapid expansion of exports and the improvement of domestic demand ? the latter is expected to take place only at the end of the year.

The Competitiveness Yearbook 2008 published by the GKI Economic Research Co. (sponsored by Microsoft) includes more than 140 diagrams and analyses the competitiveness of the Hungarian economy in an international comparison.

ProAct: Regional innovation and research policy outlook - policy
practices in eight European regions
